.........that may be true, but I used to be a big feminist and most of the people I knew were sad scared women who felt persecuted by the mainstream. It didn't seem like a good way to live my life. I think the original ideas are great of course - equal pay, independence, working in whatever field I choose. Somehow though the movement got derailed IMO. People get mad at me if I say I'm a feminist and a republican like I can't be both.

........I think the generation of women in their 20's and early 30's generally aren't facing the same kind of society that feminism grew out of, so they don't really see the need for it, it's irrelevent for them. But it's unfortunate because a real backlash taking place and it feels like we might be going backwards.
